Radiohead - In Rainbows (2007)

  Del poeta Antonio Porchia es la frase "Si no levantas los ojos, creerás que eres el punto más alto"; en la actitud de la banda británica se confirma esta idea al haber sabido levantar siempre su mirada.

El grupo nació hace 16 años con la humildad del buen alumno. Su ambición les condujo a no limitarse, a crear con valentía; ahora ya los podemos considerar maestros. Han sabido encontrar su propio estilo después de inspirarse en brillantes músicos, experimentando sin alejarse del público, superando el éxito sin perder independencia, exigiéndose lo máximo como todo auténtico artista siente que debe hacer. Con su popularidad y prestigio, la posición que ocupan en el mundo de la música es única: un claro referente de este comienzo de siglo.

El diez de octubre del pasado año ofrecieron de manera gratuita, en su página web, In Rainbows. Aunque otros artistas ya habían presentado sus trabajos en Internet para que el público los pudiera escuchar libremente, el debate que ha originado Radiohead no tiene precedentes. ¿Origen de una posible transformación en el negocio discográfico o tan sólo una inteligente forma de adaptarse a los veloces cambios de esta época?, polémicas aparte, el disco será recordado principalmente por su calidad, valorada en la mayoría de publicaciones especializadas.

Album de madurez que no necesita de artificio para impresionar a los sometidos por las tendencias, ni repetir gastadas fórmulas como la industria exige. Trabajo compacto, sin altibajos, atractivo y cincelado sin prisas, con la seguridad que da creer en la honestidad de sus hallazgos.

El punto más alto del año 2007 le pertenece a Radiohead.
